About this route
Ventano del diablo runs horizontally across the narrow Júcar gorge at the foot of the viewpoint that gives it its name, near Villalba de la Sierra in the Serranía de Cuenca Natural Park. Roughly 500 m of equipped line cling to the canyon walls, well rated and graded C overall, with minimal real ascent and a flowing, traversing character. Two itineraries share the cliff: an easier family variant with wooden platforms and hanging bridges, and a more demanding one with vertical passages, a Tibetan and a Nepalese bridge and optional zip lines high above the water. The approach from the viewpoint car park is only five minutes, so almost all your time is spent on the rock. It pairs naturally with canyoning in the Júcar, though winter is best avoided for the cold; a reservation and on-site authorization are required.
