About this route
Skuta is the eastern line to the 2532-metre summit, the third-highest peak in the Kamnik Alps, but only part of it is actually secured. Although the cabled sections sit in the modest A/B range and take around an hour, much of the ascent is unprotected free climbing in serious, exposed terrain, and the descent westward involves more of the same. With a three-hour approach from the Ravenska Kočna and an alpine setting that rewards good route-finding, this is a mountaineering objective rather than a casual ferrata. It belongs to confident climbers comfortable moving unroped on demanding high-alpine ground.
