About this route
The Piz Trovat Klettersteig 2 is a serious grade-E route for experts, set amid the breathtaking glacier scenery of the Bernina massif. The line is mostly demanding but features one extreme passage, an airy rope bridge and sustained exposure throughout, with a steep entry ladder, slabs and an overhanging headwall that call for strong arms and confident footwork. There is no intermediate exit, so it commits you to the full climb. Access is easy and short via the Diavolezza cable car from the Bernina-Diavolezza valley station, where parking is free; the route first follows the easier Piz Trovat I before branching off, so less experienced climbers can opt for that variant instead. Note that rockfall has led to closures here in the past, so the current status should always be checked before setting out.
