About this route
Žoharov put is a short, friendly via ferrata that climbs to the romantic ruins of Okić castle, perched on a secluded rocky peak of the Plešivica ridge near Zagreb. The hardest move, a slightly stiffer B, comes right at the start, after which the line settles into easy climbing along the rock. At around 60 m and a quarter of an hour on the cable it makes an ideal quick outing, and as a true school ferrata it works well for beginners and children. The 15-minute approach starts from the Dr. Maks Plotnikov mountain lodge at the foot of the Okić cliff: head south, rise slightly under the rock, then drop easily to the start. From the top there are wide views over Posavina, Pokuplje, Zagreb, Medvednica and Plešivica, with refreshments waiting back at the lodge.
