About this route
Mali Šibenik is a technically engaging C/D route that threads through cracks and rock fissures while opening up sweeping views of the sea and the Croatian islands. The fixed cable inspires little confidence where it is anchored, so it is wiser to climb on the rock itself and treat the line only as support rather than pulling on it. The approach is long, around two and a half hours along a cycling track with a turn-off toward the start at roughly 700 metres above the sea. Above the ferrata an unprotected traverse and a scramble lead to the summit of Veliki Šibenik, with about 500 metres of height gained overall. It suits experienced via ferrata climbers who will relish the maritime panoramas and do not mind protection of lower quality than they know from the Alps.
