About this route
Lindwurm is a short but seriously demanding via ferrata graded D/E in the Zwerchwand above Bad Goisern, in the Totes Gebirge. Over barely 55 m of climbing the line moves from a steel cable studded with many pins low down to bare, smooth rock higher up, where the final D/E moves become committing. The south-facing wall is reached in about an hour via the forest road to the Roßmoosalm and the boulder fields beneath the face, and it is often tackled as the hard finale of the long Bad Goisern round. Full via-ferrata gear and a helmet are essential, and the route is reserved for strong, experienced climbers after a brief but intense challenge.
