About this route
Leadership is a short, simple via ferrata on the Predigstuhl above Bad Goisern on Lake Hallstatt, built in connection with a local mountain-guide and climbing school and often used as an introductory route. Graded B/C, its 150 metres of cable climb steeply to a dizzyingly exposed ridge before the final belays lead to the top, with a notable passage through a rock cleft on a ladder. From the free Parkplatz Predigstuhl, also served by bus, the start is reached in about 40 minutes. The whole outing comes to roughly four hours and a 567 m ascent, so it makes a satisfying half-day with genuine summit views. It pairs naturally with the neighbouring Mein Land-Dein Land ferrata, and is best done only in stable weather.
