About this route
The Klettersteig Leukerbad Daubenhorn ranks among the most demanding via ferratas in Switzerland, a long, sustained line of roughly 1,150 m that climbs toward the Daubenhorn summit and takes around six hours. Threaded with numerous ladders and iron rungs, it culminates in a tough graded passage hidden in a cave, the variant E, which can be bypassed for those who prefer to avoid it. The start is reached from the Gemmibahn cable car, whose use is recommended given the length and exertion of the day. This is a serious objective reserved for genuinely experienced and well-conditioned climbers.
