About this route
John Hogbin Tramo 4 is the recently added northern section of the John Hogbin via ferrata complex near Zafarraya in Andalusia, and it packs a lot of fun into its short, sporty run. Although the cable is meant for safety only, the K4 grade (rated E here) hits hard thanks to a couple of long zip-lines, a pendulum, a monkey bar and a 30-metre monkey bridge that string the line together. The climb itself takes around an hour over roughly 500 metres, with a very quick approach of about ten minutes from the parking by the A-341. It is best suited to confident climbers who enjoy playful, adrenaline-charged adventure features rather than pure rock work, and a pulley is essential for the ziplines.
