The Hochzillertal Winterklettersteig is a compact, punchy line set right inside the Hochzillertal-Kaltenbach ski area, reachable in a quick 15-minute walk from the lift. At roughly 120 metres it is graded C/D, packing a concentrated dose of demanding climbing into a very short distance and barely 15 metres of height gain. Because it functions as a winter route, full via ferrata equipment, a helmet and avalanche gear belong in your pack, and the steep slope means snow and avalanche conditions must be judged carefully. The short approach and descent make it an easy add-on between ski runs. It suits experienced climbers looking for a brief but intense outing in a wintry alpine setting.
