About this route
GAS, properly the Gasperina, is a brisk grade C via ferrata that smooths the way to and from the Forca dell'Alpino saddle in the Dolomites. Its great strength is the immaculate cabling, freshly installed in 2022. The climbing itself is short, around three quarters of an hour, but the approach from Rifugio Fratelli de Gasperi is long and involves several hours of walking at around 2,100 m. Clear waymarks on the left guide you to the correct start. Highly rated, it is a genuinely rewarding line for lovers of mountain saddles and well-maintained protection.
