Ferrata HZS Kyseľ is one of the most striking secured routes in Slovakia, threading the Kyseľ gorge in the Slovenský raj National Park strictly one-way and upstream since it opened in 2016, reviving a canyon that had been closed for years after a fire. Graded C, it keeps a largely horizontal character with a gentle ascent, so much of the line is traversed along the wall, building to a steep vertical climb past the Obrovský vodopád that forms the crux and ends with a bridge above the ravine. Along the way you pass a total of five waterfalls, making the ascent a memorable journey through a tight, enclosed gorge. Plan for around two hours of climbing plus a long approach and return, an entry fee that funds nature protection, and remember the seasonal closure from late October to mid-June, as well as the fact that there is no turning back once you start.
