About this route
Ferrata Erminio Arosio on the Corno di Grevo is one of the most demanding equipped routes in the Adamello group, reserved strictly for very experienced and well-trained climbers. Graded D, it follows a long, jagged ridge of roughly 1200 m to the 2869 m summit, with exposure that is intense and sustained from end to end and only minimal artificial aid, so the firm granite and its friction do much of the work. The climbing alone takes around three hours, on top of an approach of about two hours from the Malga Licino car park past the Rifugio Città di Lissone. Wide cable spacing makes for mobile cable, there are no escape routes once committed, and the reward for the physical and mental effort is a stunning overlook of the Adamello glacier. Best tackled in summer through early autumn, it is a serious mountaineering day for self-reliant ferratists only.
