About this route
The Eppenberg Klettersteige were a pair of short, sport-oriented routes set in a forest climbing garden above Aarau, the harder of which reached grade D. They have since been dismantled (abgebaut): the access aids were removed around October 2021 because of their poor condition and will not be rebuilt, so the line can no longer be climbed. When it existed the difficult route ran for roughly 30 metres and crossed beneath an overhang, with a quick approach of about ten to fifteen minutes from the Waldhaus parking lot. The shady crag was also notorious for aggressive mosquitoes in wet summers. The site remains in use as a sport-climbing area, and we list this entry only as a historical record.
