About this route
Corno Regismondo is a short via ferrata leading to a fore-summit of a 1,253-metre peak set between Monte Coltignone and Monte San Martino, high above the city of Lecco. Graded C and only about fifty metres of climbing, the line follows chains along its whole length with metal staples in the more exposed first section. The catch is the very friable, unstable rock and the worn, loosely anchored chains: several sources warn that the route is dangerous and local signage actually recommends bypassing it on the surrounding equipped path. A long approach of around two hours turns this into more of a summit objective than a quick outing, and it pairs naturally with the nearby Corno Medale for a fuller day with fine views over Lecco.
